Gibraltar will celebrate EuroBirdwatch on Saturday the 5^th October.

Events will include a bird ringing demonstration at the Strait of Gibraltar Bird Observatory at Jews' Gate, and at Tovey Cottage, at the northern end of the Rock, where there will be a display of raptors that include Eagle Owl, Golden Eagle and many more.  Pamphlets and other literature will be available to members and friends, and everyone is encouraged to attend together with families and youngsters.

This will be followed by a session at Europa Point, where we will see shearwaters, gannets and other seabirds close inshore.

EuroBirdwatch is an annual event of BirdLife European partners that began in 1993 to create an awareness campaign for migratory birds and their habitats.  Since then, between 17 and 41 countries have participated in EuroBirdwatch that has  attracted more than 1.18 million people to admire and learn more on the impressive migration of birds in Europe that winter in Africa.
