18 Dec:  Cloudy skies with a moderate westerly wind.  Approximately 50 Black-headed Gulls were feeding and resting on the cliff below Europa Point.  Among them was E6PT, and the return of T39J, another Black-headed Gull that has been wintering at this site for a few years now.  Also present was a Black-headed Gull bearing a blue colour ring with the letters RKSF.  It has been ringed in France and we will post details of this gull in due course.

A new ringed Black-headed Gull RKSF wintering at Europa Point.

15 Dec:  Clear skies with a light westerly wind.  There were over 50 Black-headed Gulls  at Europa Point with some Gannets feeding offshore.  A close look at the flock resting on the cliff saw the return of Black-headed Gull E6PT.   It is interesting that some birds have a site fidelity, coming back to the wintering site year after year.  It has been recorded on subsequent years at Europa Point, wintering from 2016 until now.
